AI Summit Styria 2026
AIS26 – AI SUMMIT Styria 2026 is a two-day conference at FH JOANNEUM's Kapfenberg campus for early-career researchers, students, experts and practitioners working on current developments and challenges in artificial intelligence. The programme is built around four tracks: Foundations & Infrastructure (generative AI, multi-agent systems, MLOps/LLMOps), Software Engineering in the age of AI, IT-Security with AI-based defence strategies, and an Interdisciplinary track on regulation and ethics for safe AI in critical systems. Day one opens on the afternoon of 22 October with keynotes by Patrick Ratheiser (Director and Head of AI at EY Österreich) and Prof. Dr. Elisabeth André, followed by a panel discussion and an evening get-together. Day two runs a full day of eight parallel paper sessions and an accompanying poster session, with keynotes from Carina Zehetmaier on turning the AI Act into measurable compliance, Florian Brugger on moving from AI point solutions to system solutions, and Dr. Klaus Steinmaurer on power and control over AI. Accepted contributions are published, and lunch and coffee breaks are included in the ticket. Day one is free to attend; day two costs EUR 65–195 depending on early-bird timing and student status, and is free for FH JOANNEUM students and staff.
