The 7th Wiener Produktionstechnik Kongress (WPK2026) is a two-day production engineering conference hosted by TU Wien's Institute of Production Engineering and Photonic Technologies (IFT) in the Kuppelsaal at Karlsplatz. Under the theme "From Data-Driven Production to Autonomous Manufacturing Systems", it covers manufacturing concepts, AI-supported data-based optimisation and process innovations towards highly automated and autonomous machines, as well as the human-centred redesign of factory work. Speakers from industry and academia, including Siemens, Bosch, DMG Mori, BMW Group, Boeing, FILL, TU Munich, TU Darmstadt and KU Leuven, present talks on AI in the factory, physical AI, software-defined automation, agentic systems in manufacturing, real-time quality monitoring, quantum computing in manufacturing and additive manufacturing. The congress runs on 7 and 8 October 2026. A come-together at TUtheSky on 6 October comes before it, and a gala dinner takes place at the Wiener Rathauskeller on 7 October. Tickets for both days cost from EUR 150 (students) to EUR 900 (regular ticket with the gala dinner), and registration runs through the congress website.

A UK trade and innovation day staged in Vienna by the British Embassy under the banner "Commercialising quantum | Creating the quantum future together". Five thematic blocks run 09:00-18:00 (doors 08:30): The UK Quantum Ecosystem — understanding the quantum opportunity and growth potential; Quantum Powered Solutions — innovative UK companies presenting use cases to transform key sectors; Quantum Applications in Industry — how businesses are leveraging quantum for real-world impact; Quantum Policy & Governance — building pan-European policy frameworks; and From Research to Market — turning quantum innovation into business value. Attendance is by registration only; expressions of interest go to the embassy's Department for Business and Trade team with name, company and position.
