Chaospott, the Chaos Computer Club community in Essen, hosts its monthly Digital Independence Day at its hackerspace on Sibyllastraße 9. Over coffee and cake, members offer advice on all questions around getting out of the surveillance nightmare that is today's mainstream IT service landscape. Anyone who wants to set something up on the spot should bring a laptop or smartphone along with a charging cable. The open session runs from 16:00 to 18:00 and no registration is required. It is part of the nationwide DI.day initiative, which invites people to switch to privacy-respecting alternatives on the first Sunday of every month.

A small hack and "frickel" festival on the Flensburg Fjord at Strandpavillon Solitüde, organised by Chaos Computer Club Flensburg e.V. Open to anyone interested in tinkering, programming, hacking, soldering, 3D printing and net politics, with no prior expertise required. Soldering and 3D-print stations run throughout the weekend.
