Privacy (revDSG / GDPR)

hackevents.net is operated under Swiss data-protection law (revDSG) and, for EU visitors, the GDPR. We collect the minimum needed to run the product.

• Account: your name, email and provider id from Google/GitHub/LinkedIn sign-in.
• Preferences: the prompts, follows and calendars you create.
• No selling of personal data. No third-party ad tracking.
• Calendar subscriptions are anonymous URLs you can revoke anytime.
• Data export & deletion on request: privacy@hackevents.net.

Member perks

• Reading the perks page shares nothing with anyone.
• A discount codeis simply yours to use. You redeem it at the partner's own checkout, and from that point their privacy policy applies, not ours — we are not told whether you used it.
• Some partners set a discount up per company and need to know who you are. If you choose to send that short form, your account email and the answers you type — company, website, your role, what you are hiring for — are sent to that partner. The form names them before you send anything, and you never have to send it.
• We receive a copy of the same request, because we are who you will ask about it afterwards and we need to see when an offer stops being honoured. We ask partners to use your details only to set up your discount.
• Perk links carry a campaign tag so the partner can see the visit came from hackevents. It identifies us, not you.
