Interested in working on AI Safety or AI Governance, but unsure which opportunities to pursue or how to prepare for them? This edition of Zurich AI Safety Weekly explores the fellowships, research programmes, and other opportunities available to people looking to enter or advance in the field. We’ll map relevant opportunities, discuss application requirements and timelines, and hear from people who have participated in fellowships or research programmes. We’ll also explore different research areas and potential routes into AI Safety and Governance, from technical research and evaluations to policy and governance work. What we’ll cover: Fellowship opportunities, including SPAR and other relevant programmes. Research opportunities, organisations, and areas to explore. Eligibility requirements, application timelines, funding, and expected commitments. Lessons from people who have completed or are undertaking fellowships. Practical advice on preparing competitive applications and choosing your next steps. Whether you’re a student, researcher, or professional exploring the field, this session aims to help you identify opportunities that fit your interests and plan what to do next. No specific background is required. Bring your questions and join the discussion! 🍕 We’ll provide food and drinks. ⏱️ 24th of November, Tuesday, 18:30–20:00 📍 ETH Zurich, HG D3.3
