Several people in Zurich are doing SPAR this fall, so let’s get you all in one room! 🤝 SPAR is remote, so most of you are probably doing your research alone at home. On Friday, 30 October, we’re inviting all SPAR fellows in and around Zurich to ⛰︎ PEAKS, the AI safety and EA coworking space in the centre of Zurich. 💻 Cowork all day: Bring your laptop and work on your SPAR project next to other fellows and people who work on AI safety full-time. Stay the whole day or drop in whenever it suits you. 🍲 Free dinner in the evening: We’ll have dinner together, with dinner discussions, research chats and a chance to get to know the other fellows. You’re very welcome to come just for dinner. 🧭 Not doing SPAR? Fellows from other AI safety fellowships and research programs (e.g. MATS, ERA, Pivotal) are just as welcome. 🗓️ Schedule 10:00: Doors open, coworking 12:30: Lunch break (bring your own, or grab something nearby with us) 18:00: Evening arrivals & drinks 18:30: Dinner & discussions Open end 👉 Please register, even if you only come for dinner, so we can plan food and desks. You can add dietary requirements in the sign-up form. 📍 ⛰︎ PEAKS Office (Zeughausstr. 31, 8004 Zurich), easy to reach from Zurich HB (tram stops Sihlpost/HB or Stauffacher) 🛎️ First-timers: Ring the “PEAKS” doorbell and wait for 30 seconds for someone to open the door. 🔑 Access info: If you already have access, use the key in the “PEAKS” keybox to open the doors, prop them up with sth, and replace the key. 📞 Trouble getting in? About PEAKS: PEAKS is a collaborative coworking space for people working in effective altruism, AI safety and biosecurity, close to ETH and the University of Zurich. It regularly hosts events with Zurich AI Safety, EA Zurich and the Zurich Biosecurity Hub. There’s also public coworking every Tuesday and Thursday, so if you like it, come back!
