Can we build AI models that predict how a human cell will respond to disease, genetic change or a new drug, and run experiments digitally before doing them at the bench? That is the goal of the Virtual Biology Initiative, launched by Biohub in April. An October press release announced $1.8 billion of aligned activities and in-kind contributions from partners include the US Department of Energy, NIH, Google DeepMind, Isomorphic Labs and Meta.
