Interfug 2026 is the Chaos Computer Club Chemnitz's laid-back "Geekend", held under the motto "Verzögerungen im Betriebsablauf" (delays in operations). It runs from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 October 2026 at Lokomov in Chemnitz, with arrival plus an optional city tour and railway museum visit on the Friday and the main programme on 10 and 11 October. The organisers describe it as their annual contribution to more chaos in the East, with a focus on media, AI and technical innovations — this time with a particular emphasis on railway-related topics — and on how that technology shapes society, not just how it is used. The programme is built from what participants bring: 20- or 45-minute talks, 60- or 90-minute workshops, art made with technology, socially relevant subjects and geeky projects, all submitted through the call for participation. Admission is traditionally free, with a suggested donation of €10, and breakfast on the Sunday can be booked separately.

The EMBO Workshop Chemical Biology 2026 runs at the EMBL Advanced Training Centre in Heidelberg and in parallel online, and bills itself as the largest and longest-standing conference in its field. Five session tracks cover big data, AI and design; chemical technologies to probe biology; chemical technologies to manipulate biology; chemical synthetic biology; and the RNA world — spanning tool development through to new drug modalities and computational protein design.
