This **Online hackathon** is an invitation to spend just over two weeks building with **Apertus**, Switzerland's fully open LLM. From **1–16 October**, builders everywhere gather online to push Apertus 1.5 further. And, you're invited. If you care about open and trustworthy AI that anyone can use, this is your place. Bern/Liebefeld on-site edition of «Hack Apertus», the hackathon series around Apertus, Switzerland's fully open large language model. On 18–19 October 2026 at WORKSPACE & MORE in Liebefeld, teams solve partner challenges and develop open, trustworthy blueprints for sovereign AI infrastructure.
The Zurich stop of the Hack Apertus series, 27–28 November 2026 at the AI Startup Center in Technopark. Teams build on Apertus, Switzerland's sovereign open LLM, solving partner challenges and producing open blueprints for sovereign infrastructure. Strong teams advance to the May 2027 Grand Finals.
On 28 November, 6 teams bring their Apertus prototypes to the stage for the Zurich Finals at the AI Startup Center / Technopark.
