Driven by passion - where laid-back attitude meets technical substance. Daten-WG is more like a shared-flat festival than a classic conference: approachable, short distances – and above all, with time for real conversations. The idea: bringing data people from differnt bubbles (Microsoft Tech, Marketing, Finance, SME,..) together without the usual tight scheduled conference feeling.
Brains on Silicon is a two-day B2B conference for applied AI at the ICD Dresden, built around the theme "closing the implementation gap" — less about what AI could do than about how it actually lands in products, processes and industrial systems. The 2026 programme is organised into seven pillars: agentic workflows, human + AI partnership, sovereign AI, silicon on AI (neuromorphic chips, photonics and semiconductor architectures out of Dresden), physical AI, learning with AI, and concrete use cases. Beyond the stage programme it runs an expo, two parallel masterclass tracks led by industry practitioners, a startup area with pitches and prizes, and an evening party. Announced speakers include leads from Anthropic, OpenAI, STACKIT and Deloitte.
On 15 and 16 September 2026, the Dortmund industrial landmark turns into a platform for AI, blockchain, digital assets and emerging tech – with speakers from Microsoft, Google Cloud, IBM, PwC, Chainlink and many more. Day 1 is built for business and decision-makers; Day 2 is free and open to everyone.
AWS Community Day DACH is a one-day, community-run AWS conference organised by Förderverein AWS Community DACH e.V., the association behind the AWS User Group leaders, AWS Heroes and AWS Community Builders in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It has run since 2017 and the organisers bill it as the number-one community-led AWS event in the DACH region; the 2026 edition takes place at Kosmos Berlin and runs from 8:00 to 18:00. Recent editions have run around 28 expert talks selected from more than 200 submissions, and the day mixes conference sessions with workshops and hands-on labs. Subjects range from serverless architecture to AI-driven analytics, delivered by speakers from the community, with breaks and discussion time built in between sessions. It is aimed at developers, architects and cloud leaders, and draws over 500 attendees from more than 30 AWS user groups across the three countries. Xen Summit is the annual gathering of the Xen Project community, and the 2026 edition runs for three days at the HEADS office in Aschheim, just east of Munich, hosted by Renesas. Two days of technical talks are followed by a third day given over entirely to design sessions, which are working sessions where contributors settle architecture, implementation plans and project direction face to face rather than sit through presentations. The published programme leans heavily on embedded and automotive virtualization, with talks on Xen on Renesas R-Car Gen5 silicon, mixed-criticality workloads, thermal management and the path toward safety certification, alongside a cloud and infrastructure track covering XCP-ng, XenServer nested virtualization and per-guest resource management. Other sessions cover Xen on RISC-V, Arm VHE-always hardware, formal methods, secure inter-domain communication over Argo, and compliance work against DO-178C and IEC 62443. The audience is Xen developers and maintainers, embedded and automotive engineers, cloud and infrastructure practitioners, researchers and students. The summit is hybrid, with standard in-person registration at $200 and a $20 rate for academics and for virtual attendance, plus a community social dinner on the evening of 16 September.
The CONSUL DEMOCRACY Foundation, in collaboration with the Landeshauptstadt München, hosts ConsulCon 2026 in Munich from 15 to 17 September, after the 2025 edition in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The conference dives into digital democracy, open source technology and democratic empowerment, and connects an ever-developing community, inviting new members to exchange views and knowledge. It is for everyone interested in direct and participatory democratic models, digital platforms and open source technology. Expect demo runs, workshops on devising participation processes and empowering citizens in cities and regions in Europe, Latin America and Africa, sessions on open source technology and digital public goods, and keynotes about the democratic potential of it all. The programme runs in four tracks: practical deep dive, improving participation, open source and open gov, and an afternoon with AI, alongside a software developer special on contributing to the CONSUL codebase. Keynotes come from Roman Huber (Mehr Demokratie), Sophie Bloemen (Commons Network) and Joe Mathews (Democracy Local). Day one is at Flux Munich; days two and three are hosted by the city of Munich at Agnes-Pockels-Bogen 33. Tickets are donation-based.
